Additionally, the<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;color: #000080\">\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmis.scot\/what-we-do\/lightweight-manufacturing-centre\/\" data-attribute-index=\"6\" data-entity-type=\"MINI_COMPANY\" style=\"color: #000080;text-decoration: underline\">Lightweight Manufacturing Centre at NMIS<\/a><\/span>\u00a0will relocate to the new facility, splitting its operations between it and the\u00a0University of Strathclyde&#8217;s<span style=\"color: #000080\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.strath.ac.uk\/research\/advancedformingresearchcentre\/\" data-attribute-index=\"10\" data-entity-type=\"MINI_COMPANY\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #000080;text-decoration: underline\">Advanced Forming Research Centre\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a>(AFRC).<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Minister, Humza Yousaf said:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe opening of the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) is an exciting moment \u2013 it will ensure that Scotland\u2019s long history of innovation and engineering continues, and also support our drive to net zero. <\/em><em>Scotland is one of the most innovative nations in the world. By bringing together research, industry and the public sector, this facility will allow companies of all sizes to embrace creative manufacturing techniques and support cutting edge research. Manufacturing is critical to our long-term economic recovery and this centre, which the Scottish Government provided funding of \u00a375 million towards, will support that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The operationally carbon neutral campus will support manufacturing, engineering and technology businesses in Scotland, the UK and beyond to innovate and boost productivity, which will grow our economy, develop a vibrant workforce, and create happier, healthier, and greener communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking after the event Alex Lowe added:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe look forward to supporting NMIS in the coming years.\u00a0 With TMS being one of the first industry sponsors of the Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC), it\u2019s been heartening to have watched this new state of
